Von Juni bis August ist die Glockenblume mit weißen oder dunkelvioletten Blüten bedeckt. Eine bekannte und beliebte Glockenblume, die oft in Blumenbeeten und Steingärten gepflanzt wird. Sie bevorzugt warme und sonnige Standorte. Was den Boden betrifft, werden die besten Ergebnisse in trockenem oder mäßig feuchtem Boden erzielt. Die Staude kommt auch mit sehr kargen Böden zurecht, verträgt jedoch kein stehendes Wasser.
